Potential Purchasing Savings – register now to access Vendors of Record (VOR)
The OBRC met with a Senior Business Analyst from the Business Practices Unit of MCSS to discuss Vendors of Record. The Province has negotiated contracts, called Vendors of Record, with selected vendors for the supply of commonly used goods and services. The Province is now making 30 of these agreements available to the Broader Public Sector (which includes Transfer Payment Agencies). Included in this list are Software/IT, Cellular Services, Bulk Fuel, Cleaning Supplies, Vehicle purchases, Office Products and Office Furniture. The savings can be substantial so agencies are encouraged to register (see below).
Agencies then have the choice of making purchases through VOR or other vendors through their own procurement process. Any savings realized through the use of VORs are retained by agencies.
To register as a Broader Public Sector purchaser and learn more about the saving opportunities go to http://www.doingbusiness.mgs.gov.on.ca and select Register. Complete the registration and submit. Once the Ministry verifies that you are a legitimate transfer payment agency they will activate your account and send you a User Name and Password. You will then have access to information on each VOR including user guides, rates and ordering procedures.
The OBRC will continue to work with the Business Practices Unit to increase the number of VORs available for savings opportunities.

They have several phones available, including Blackberries. Tell Joanne that you’re interested in the government plan for your community living organization. Of course, they want you to lock into a 3 year plan, which we thought was terrific since the price was so good - $50 per month including $8.95 network fee and 911 fee.
